It is New Year’s Eve here at Getup Blog HQ, and I am waiting for Alex to get home so we can order our favorite pizza and eat ourselves into 2018.
Will we make it to midnight before falling asleep? Probably not.
The frustration of enduring New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles is a good example of how living in such a vibrant, exciting city can sometimes be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I love having access hundreds of bars, restaurants, and events on any given night. On the other hand, any “special” night (Valentines, New Years, Halloween) typically causes those same venues to become overpriced and overcrowded. This year, instead of purchasing yet another $60 NYE party ticket for the privilege of standing ass to elbow with the sequined masses, we have opted for pajamas and pizza.
This is just a simple, casual look I threw together a few days ago for running errands in KTown. Though none of the items are truly vintage, I like the retro styling of the sweater and these sneakers.
Jeans (American Eagle) ♦ Shoes (Nike) ♦ Sweater – old (similar) ♦ Sunglasses (Madewell) ♦ Beanie (YeaNice)
Here’s hoping your New Year’s Eve, whichever way you celebrate it, features pizza.
